Context

Paolo Castro is a Philippine e-commerce coach, content creator, and speaker with two very different audiences: aspiring e-commerce operators who want mentoring, and brands who want him for collaborations, talks, and trainings. One page trying to serve both usually serves neither.

The site is a two-path funnel in Taglish, his actual voice: a welcome video, then a fork — the E-Commerce track (internship, partnership, leadership & mentoring) or the Content-Creator track (brand collabs, seminars and workshops, speaking) — each landing on its own branded form.

The craft

  • Premium motion, navy-and-volt brand. Clash Display type, magnetic CTAs, scroll reveals, parallax, path-draw animations — a personal brand that moves like the content he makes.
  • Video everywhere, engineered properly. His testimonials and talks are the proof, so the site treats video as a first-class citizen: press-to-play testimonial cards (no 24MB autoload), and a custom mini-player that keeps the active video docked in a draggable floating window as you scroll.
  • The iPhone bug worth writing home about. WebKit fires a phantom pause event when it rejects unmuted autoplay — which silently killed the floating player on every iPhone. Found it by wrapping video.play() in instrumented logging, fixed it in one line, then added a mobile-Safari test project so it can never ship broken again. The suite runs 20/20 across desktop and mobile.

The build

Astro with React islands on Cloudflare Pages — static-fast where it can be, interactive where it matters. Forms are native and branded, wired so every inquiry — internship, partnership, collab, speaking — lands as a row in a Google Sheet and an email in his Gmail, automatically. No database, no SaaS subscription: the funnel runs on the Google ecosystem at $0 a month, the same zero-cost architecture as my Shinjiru and askDominica builds. The visual system is built around his photography and real event footage.

Status

Live and iterating with the client: brand assets shipped (custom favicon traced from his original mark, generated OG imagery), the funnel forms are built and awaiting activation on his accounts, and a content phase (blog) is scaffolded for when he's ready.
